First and foremost, we sincerely hope you and your families are well, as the most important things at this time are our health and our ability to take care of our families. As you are aware, the health pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus has presented many challenges to both our daily life and businesses: the future of travel now looks very different.

As the world adjusts to new travel norms and expectations, we are preparing to welcome back our friends of Cara Hotels and regular guests, as well as greeting new customers. Your concerns at this particular time are also our concerns;

therefore, we would like to share with you our new health, safety, and cleanliness protocols, as we continue to ensure the safeguard and well-being of both our guests and employees.

 

Across every area of our operation, starting from entering the hotel through to reception, food and beverage, guest rooms, and public areas, we have made health and safety our priority. We have already implemented new measures that offer our guests and employees as much peace of mind as is possible, whilst at the same time paying close attention to the instructions relating to travel and safety given by international health organizations as well as the guidance instructions relating to travel and safety given by international health organizations and local authorities.

Some of the new procedures and safety guarantees that we have already or will implement include, but are not limited to, the following:

EMPLOYEE TRAINING & AWARENESS

In the spaces where staff work “behind the scenes,” we are increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas such as staff entrances, locker rooms, laundry rooms, and staff offices. In addition to this, all staff will:
 

  • Enforce strict hygiene protocols

  • Receive on-going training in health and safety protocols

  • Undergo temperature checks twice daily to ensure monitoring of Covid-19 symptoms

  • Staff will also check temperatures on their days off to ensure continued monitoring of any temperature rises

  • Be required to wash their hands upon arrival for work and frequently in specially designated areas throughout their shift

  • Receive PPE where required

  • Observe all social distancing, including no handshakes, hugs, etc

RESTAURANTS & BARS

  • Restaurants and lounges setup to reflect physical distancing.

  • Guests must wear masks when not seated at a table.

  • Maximum 4 persons to a table.

  • Breakfast buffets changed to full table service.

  • Cutlery will be provided at the table once guest has seated

  • Disposable napkins to be used.

  • Individual sanitized condiment packages to be used, cruets, ketchup etc.

  • We encourage cashless or contactless payments in restaurants where possible. Credit card machines to be sanitized before and after each use.

  • POS terminal to be sanitized after each shift or more frequently if heavy usage reported.

GUEST HEALTH & SAFETY

We continue to maintain the highest standards in hygiene across our hotels. To minimize the risk and prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented strict hygiene procedures.
 

  • Daily hotel team briefings to ensure enhanced operational protocols.

  • New operational measures across all departments.

  • Increased frequency of cleaning in all areas & an additional sterilisation process.

  • Covid Compliance Officers in all hotels.

  • Provision of alcohol-based sanitizers throughout our hotels.

  • All guests to the hotel will be required to thoroughly wash their hands on arrival

  • Guests checking in will be required to have a no-touch thermometer check of their temperature.

POOL & GYM

  • To ensure guests can safely socially distance whilst swimming or working out, numbers are limited and a booking service is available.

  • Safe distancing implemented between loungers and umbrellas.

  • Towels to be removed from gym and paper towels to be used. Equipment to be sanitized after usage.

HOTEL SERVICES

Changes to our service include:
 

  • Check-out time will be brought forward to 11.00, while check-in will be delayed to 16.00 to allow extra time for the new room cleaning measures.

  • Online check-in and online check-out for contactless experience.

  • Detailed pre-stay email and welcome information.

  • Rooms are sanitized with electrostatic technology after check-out; once cleaned a seal will be attached to the door to ensure the room has not been accessed since the thorough cleaning.

  • Guests can choose not to have their room serviced during their stay.

  • Touchpoint cleaning: extra disinfection of high touch areas including door handles, light switches, sockets, and remote control.

  • De-clutter of in-room amenities, including removal of the guest directory, paper and pens.

  • Guest luggage to be left outside of guest door and not taken into the room.

  • Bellmen to use disposable gloves to handle each guest’s luggage.

  • Linen carts to be sanitized daily.

PUBLIC AREAS

  • Signs will be displayed reinforcing social distancing and hygiene rules.

  • Floor markers will be placed in high volume areas to indicate correct distancing.

  • There are hand sanitization stations in the public areas and guests are encouraged to use then,

  • Furniture will be rearranged to meet the required safe distancing

  • Additional cleaning will be undertaken of all high touch surfaces.

  • Washrooms to be serviced and sanitized every  two hours and  management will check last cleaned charts
